     1、 Integrated cutting and grinding machine for petrographic samples

Cutting and grinding, one machine is coaxial, and the diameter of the shaft is 1.25 inches (31.75mm), ensuring a high degree of parallelism during the transfer process of cutting and grinding for the same sample, without worrying about the plane positioning of the sample. When grinding and thinning the thin film after cutting, there will be no phenomenon of grinding deviation. One machine has two functions, and its cost-effectiveness is very outstanding.


The motor speed is continuously adjustable from 100-3000rpm/min in increments of 1rpm/min. High rotational speed means fast cutting speed and high work efficiency when cutting raw stones; Lowering the speed means higher adaptability, controllability, and safety when cutting or grinding thinner sheets or porous and fragile materials.


Both warehouse doors (protective covers) are opened upwards, without occupying any left or right space. This not only saves the laboratory's floor space, but also frees up the operating space. Upper and lower diamond cutting blades and diamond cup shaped grinding wheels, micrometers (micrometers) on the upper and lower grinding handle sides, glass slides bonded to the samples, cleaning and cutting chambers, and grinding chambers&hellip& Hellip; Wait a minute, the operating space is sufficient, and the safety and convenience are very high.

The sample clamping is all adsorbed by a vacuum chuck, simplifying the loading and sampling operations, and the loading instructions are clear with the vacuum chuck as the positioning.


The vacuum chuck on the cutting side is installed on the chuck fixing seat on the workbench; The vacuum chuck on the grinding side is installed on the coaxial inner arm of the grinding operation handle.


The two air pipes of the independent vacuum pump are respectively connected to the vacuum chuck on the cutting side and the grinding side.

     3、 Vacuum chuck for petrographic samples


MetLab's integrated lithofacies precision cutting and grinding machine METCUT-10GEO uses vacuum chucks for fixing samples on both the cutting and grinding sides. The vacuum comes from an independent vacuum system matched with METCUT-10GEO. Vacuum on/off is integrated on the touch screen control panel, and cutting and grinding are operated independently. The vacuum on/off of cutting is displayed in the second row of the touch screen; The vacuum on/off of grinding is displayed in the third row of the touch screen.


When clicking to turn on the vacuum switch, align the sample slide with the vacuum chuck to adsorb and fix it. After cutting or grinding, turn off the motor and cooling water, open the compartment door, click on the vacuum switch on the touch screen, close the air circuit of the vacuum chuck, and then download the glass slide.

    METCUT-10GEO comes with a pair of large and small sized vacuum chucks, covering all standard glass slide sizes. The outer frame size of the vacuum chuck is the same, and the distinction between large and small is determined by the size of the sealing ring. The sealing ring size of small-sized vacuum chucks is 20mm wide and 40mm long. Commonly used glass slides, such as 27x46mm, 28x48mm, and 1x3in, can be used on small-sized vacuum chucks; The sealing ring size of large-sized vacuum chucks is 40mm wide and 66mm long. Commonly used glass slides, such as 1.5x3in, 2x2in, and 2x3in, are used for large-sized vacuum chucks.
