It should be noted that the microstructure of the cross-section appears more uniform than that of the longitudinal section. If the raw material is not completely recrystallized after cold processing or Hot working, the grain structure displayed on the cross section will be smaller equiaxed grains, while the larger non equiaxed grains will be displayed on the longitudinal section or plane.
