1、 Storage of QMAXIS metallographic polishing cloth
Old users of Chain Metallography place orders based on the QMAXIS original product number. When entering the warehouse, add the self-defined code of the unit to the computer system to register and enter the warehouse, for users to check, apply, and collect in the system.
The physical object of the metallographic polishing cloth is handed over to the warehouse keeper for storage.
What are the key points to pay attention to when storing QMAXIS metallographic polishing cloth? The metalworking of chain energy metallography starts from here:
QMAXIS metallographic polishing cloth should be stored and transported in its original packaging.
Suggested storage environment at 10° C to 26° C and humidity<50%.
Arrange separately according to the type and specification indicated by the product number. For example, the widely used MicroMet metallographic polishing cloth comes in three sizes: 8in, 10in, and 12in, with adhesive backing and magnetic backing. This polishing cloth has six product numbers and is placed in six storage compartments. Warehousing, month end inventory, and receiving and leaving the warehouse are clear at a glance. Not only accurate, but also efficient.
Each specification can be stacked, preferably less than ten boxes.
China has a vast territory, and the actual conditions for users are also different. Is there any impact beyond the storage environment conditions mentioned above?
QMAXIS metallographic polishing cloth at -20° C to 48° Between C, and/or under conditions of relative humidity up to 100%, continuous exposure for six months will not affect product performance. The protective film with adhesive backing still adheres completely and tightly to the adhesive backing.
If the user's actual storage environment does not meet the recommended temperature and humidity, it will not affect usage. However, before preparing for use, the metallographic polishing cloth received should be restored to normal room temperature in advance. Whether it is the northern region with heating or the southern region without heating, whether it is the southeastern region with high humidity or the dry northwest region, collect the metallographic polishing cloth to the usage environment half an hour in advance, so that the surface, back glue, and anti film of the polishing cloth are completely equivalent to the usage environment. Remember!
2、 Use of QMAXIS metallographic polishing cloth
1. Whether it is a metallographic polishing cloth with adhesive backing or a polishing cloth with magnetic backing, the attached bearing discs (magnetic discs, iron discs) should be kept at room temperature conditions and have a clean and dry surface. If there are stains on the surface of the old bearing disc, it should be cleaned and removed with a suitable solvent (such as isopropanol). After removal, please keep the magnetic or iron disk completely dry and at room temperature conditions. If the temperature of these bearing discs is low or there is residual solvent on the surface, it will reduce the adhesion of magnetic or thermosensitive adhesives.
2. When pasting, the advantage of the metallographic polishing cloth with magnetic backing is significant& Flash; Convenient, fast, and fault-tolerant. Align one edge of the metallographic polishing cloth magnetic lining with the edge of the magnetic disc, and use this as a base point to gently lay it down towards the opposite side of the magnetic disc. If it is a metallographic polishing cloth with adhesive backing, turn the polishing cloth over and remove the protective film from one edge of the polishing cloth. Bend it and remove it about 5cm in the opposite direction. Flip over the polishing cloth and align the exposed edge of the thermosensitive adhesive with the edge of the iron plate. Using this as a starting point, lift the protective film with one hand and smoothly push the polishing cloth with the other hand. Some engineers are accustomed to using rollers, and the principle is the same. The pushing force remains consistent until the entire polishing cloth is pasted onto the iron plate. At this point, if you continue to apply pressure to the entire polishing cloth, the pressure should be stable and uniform.
The adhesive surface has no air, no distortion, and adhesion is a basic requirement.
Do not attempt to remove some or all of the polishing cloth and reapply it. Remember!
Before officially starting the polishing process, fully wet the entire polishing cloth with water and ensure that the wetting degree of the inner and outer circles is equivalent.
3. In most cases, the specimens that need to be polished are embedded. Whether manual polishing or automatic polishing is used, it is recommended to chamfer the edges of the embedded blocks to avoid scratching the surface of the metallographic polishing cloth and extend its service life.
4. Start polishing according to the guidelines of QMAXIS' Material Preparation Methods' and the operator's experience.
3、 After using QMAXIS metallographic polishing cloth
1. A metallographic polishing cloth corresponds to a micron number of metallographic polishing solution. When the polishing of this micron number meets the requirements of the "Material Preparation Method", start cleaning the polishing cloth. Different metallographic polishing cloths have different materials, structures, densities, and elastic compression ratios. So, we cannot treat it the same time and method. But&quo; Thoroughly clean; It is visible to the naked eye&ndash& Flash; There are no material chips or polishing abrasives on the surface.
2. The cleaned polishing cloth is placed diagonally on the drainage rack, and in most cases, engineers cannot spend time rotating the angle to evenly drain the water. This will inevitably result in different moisture levels on and off the metallographic polishing cloth. So, after about 3 minutes of draining (no water flow, slow dripping frequency), place the polishing cloth flat in the storage cabinet. Avoid continuously being in a dry and wet state, as there is a higher probability of polishing cloth warping. Remember!
4、 Disposal of QMAXIS metallographic polishing cloth
There are ten commonly used metallographic polishing cloths for QMAXIS, covering all material grinding and polishing applications. These metallographic polishing fabrics all meet the environmental requirements of Europe, America, and China. Metallographic polishing cloth that is no longer in use should be disposed of in accordance with local regulations.
