The Leica microscope is a precise Optical instrument. The series of microscopes produced by Leica Microsystems, a German company with a history of more than 160 years, have adopted a number of modern“ Light, Machinery, and Electricity; Advanced technology in the field of technology. Therefore, while using the microscope correctly, it is also very important to do a good job in daily maintenance and upkeep. Pay attention to the good maintenance and upkeep of the microscope, which can prolong its usage time and ensure that the microscope can always be in good working condition. How should I maintain such a professional instrument?
Maintaining the cleanliness of optical components is crucial for ensuring good optical performance. When the microscope is not in use, it should be covered with the dust cover provided by the instrument. If there is dust and dirt on the optical surface and instrument, it should be blown away with a balloon or a soft brush before wiping the surface.

The optical surface should be cleaned with lint free cotton cloth, lens paper, or cotton swabs dampened with specialized lens cleaning solution. Avoid using too much solvent. Lens wiping paper or cotton swabs should be properly wetted with the solvent, but do not penetrate the objective lens due to the use of too much solvent, causing a decrease in clarity and damage to the objective lens.
In Leica microscopes, the surface lens of the eyepiece objective is more susceptible to dust, dirt, and oil contamination. When it is found that the contrast, clarity, and haze occur, it is necessary to carefully check the condition of the eyepiece and the lens in front of the objective with a magnifying glass.
The low-power objective has a relatively large front lens, which can be wiped with cotton cloth or swab wrapped around the fingers and wiping paper dampened with ethanol. 40X and 100X need to be carefully examined with a magnifying glass. In order to achieve high flatness in high-power lenses, a front lens with a small curvature radius concave surface was used. When wiping this lens, a toothpick or cotton swab with a cotton ball was used to clean it. Wipe the surface of the lens lightly. Do not apply excessive force or make scraping movements, and make sure that the cotton swab touches the concave surface of the lens. After cleaning, use a magnifying glass to check for damage to the objective lens. If it is necessary to open the observation lens tube, be careful not to come into contact with the exposed lens under the tube. If there are finger marks on the surface of the lens, it will reduce the clarity of the image. Use a cleaning eyepiece to wipe it.
When the 100X oil mirror is used up for the microscope, please wipe the surface of the oil mirror clean in a timely manner and check if the 40X objective lens is stained with oil. If there is any, please wipe it clean in a timely manner. Maintain clear imaging of the microscope at all times.
