At the end of the year, the instruments and equipment in the laboratory need to be well maintained before the Spring Festival holiday, so that these machines that have been running for a year can also take a good rest and have a new look to meet the challenges of work after the holiday.

Maintaining equipment is a technical task. I have been working in a metallographic laboratory for a long time, and these tasks are like a daily routine. Conventional equipment, such as metallographic cutting machines, inlaying machines, polishing machines, etc., are relatively bumpless instruments and equipment, and there are no special requirements. Regular maintenance, cleaning, and maintenance are sufficient. Only the Leica microscope, which is relatively delicate in the laboratory, belongs to high-precision instrument equipment, and there are special requirements for the cleaning and maintenance of optical components. It is necessary to be more careful when cleaning and maintaining Leica microscopes, and pay attention to some details to prevent damage to optical components.

The cleaning and maintenance of Leica microscope mainly includes the following details that need to be noted:

Firstly, Leica microscopes should have three protective conditions: shockproof, moisture-proof, and dustproof. Keeping away from the earthquake source, using air conditioning and dryers in the laboratory as much as possible, laying a floor on the ground or applying dustproof paint are good ways to solve these problems.

Secondly, when focusing the Leica microscope, be careful not to let the objective lens touch the sample to avoid scratching it.

Thirdly, when the center of the circular hole in the Leica microscope stage gasket is far from the center of the objective lens, be careful not to switch the objective lens at this time to avoid scratching the objective lens.

Fourthly, the brightness adjustment of the Leica microscope should not be too large or too small, let alone too bright. This will directly affect the service life of the light bulb and also cause damage to the observer's vision.

Fifth, pay special attention to the cleaning of the optical components of the Leica microscope, and be careful. If it is floating dust, use a blowing balloon to remove it; If it is a stain, only use pure solvent, distilled water, and special tools for cleaning, and do not use paper, fiber cloth, etc. to wipe.

Sixth, when replacing the Leica microscope halogen lamp, attention should be paid to high temperatures to avoid burns; Do not touch the glass body of the halogen lamp directly with your hands.

Seventh, when turning off the Leica microscope, the brightness should be adjusted to a lower level; When turned off and not in use, adjust the objective lens to a lower state.

Eighth, more importantly, when leaving the laboratory before holidays, please turn off the machine and wait for the Leica microscope to cool down before covering it with a dust cover.

Have you achieved the above details? I hope everyone can maintain these instruments and equipment in the laboratory well, so that they can celebrate the peaceful and festive Spring Festival like us, and let us work smoothly and live happily in the new year!
